Mary Scott has three diplomas in German as well as secretarial qualifications (Oxford Brookes 1984). She worked for many years in a number of different administrative roles in a wide variety of industries, before making a change and training in Theatre (acting) with a professional company in Canada, with which she complete a full-time year apprenticeship in 1994.

In 2005 she trained to become a certified S.I.M.A. personal development and careers coach, was licensed as an Associate and since then has worked with individuals and companies using this programme. Her clientele has ranged from Company CEOs to secondary school children, from those in retirement to military veterans. 

​

In 2019 she co-founded CORE Theatre arts Training Academy which includes personal development and vocational coaching as a significant part of the programme.
